Personal service - no passing over to 'junior or trainee' staff as happens in most accountancy firms - you always get my expertise and experience.

However, when required I can call on book-keepers and Chartered Accountants with whom I have worked for some time.

You really get the best of both worlds as you only pay for me but can draw on others (and only have to pay for them) when necessary.

Nowadays a lot of work can be done via email but I am happy to travel to meet with my clients to collect books and records and also to deliver their accounts and tax returns.

ABOUT DAWN

Acted in amateur productions from a young age. At 18 was turned down by Queen Margaret College, Edinburgh for their acting course(!)

Went for the next interview I had lined up and got the job. Started with the Inland Revenue at Centre 1 in East Kilbride where I passed their exams and moved up two levels before leaving (to get married and move to East Lothian) in 1980.

Since then worked with four Chartered Accountant firms in Edinburgh while developing my own client list.

In 2006 became full-time self-employed and haven't looked back.
